Onto the rest of our Sunday feast from @roscochef @rothesayrooms and I can almost hear everyone thinking is she really banging on about his food again, but you just need to look at the cooking of that halibut and venison to understand why!
The halibut was simply stunning, the colour on the fish was perfection, and it had been impeccably well seasoned, it was served with a very tasty rabbit leg tart with compressed grapes, and some lovely onion jam.
Next up the venison was striking as you can see in the photo, and again the cooking was spot on, and of course it was accompanied by a flavour packing sauce, which is something I’ve happily learnt to expect from Ross, however, the star of the show for me was the crispy croquette of tongue and cheek – sensational!
We were getting pretty full by this point, so next up was a lovely selection of cheese, followed by a decadent and delicious chocolate dessert.
We finished with coffees and petit fours, and we were soon on our way back home having had a fabulous afternoon.
I always write honest reviews, and I’ve always written very positively about @roscochef as his food genuinely never ever lets me down, and always surprises and delights me. The service as ever was second to none with @carolina_cochrane at the helm and it was great to see her have some back up front of house today, all of whom were extremely pleasant and professional, it all adds up to make it a top notch experience out in Ballater.
Thanks as always @roscochef @carolina_cochrane 👏👌
